The Obama election

It might just be me, but I believe the 2008 presidential race is quite odd. First for the Dem. nomination we had Hillary and Obama; both great candidates with a lot to offer for the top nod. After the egos were put aside everyone realized that Obama seemed to have the majority vote and we moved on. Wait did I say everyone moved on? I said it but it didn’t happen. There are still people out there who are going to vote McCain because Hillary didn’t get the nomination. This is absolutely the most childish act in politics I have seen in a while. It’s the kind of behavior I might see on the playground or Nickelodeon. The election is already squandered into only two serious parties having any chance to win, and with childish actions like voting for the “other” party when your poster child doesn’t get their big shot we really are a bunch of babies.
What other reason do we have to vote for Clinton? She has proven that her and Bill will do anything to win and I think half of the people finally saw through her egotistic march to world domination. If anyone has been involved with politics for years and dealt with the same old Washington way of running a country it is her. I think a lot of Clinton supporters have come out in the droves because she is 1. a woman, and 2. she seems to stick in the fight until she is dead. This is admirable, but I would much rather see my country succeed than one individual. Eventually we will have a woman president, but it’s no reason to vote a woman in just because we haven’t had one. Plus if we voted for someone just because they stayed in the race, wouldn’t we vote for Ron Paul? Nader? These guys are not big Washington and have a record of looking after the actual public…. but we refuse change. We would rather keep someone that has been there, has little proof they will truly change things.
McCain? Well I admire the military service. I don’t think it qualifies you to be president. Plus every time I see the guy it’s like a bumbling of words and ideas. It’s like he can’t handle random questions and he has repeatedly admitted he doesn’t know facts about key issues in the election. Haven’t we already seen what a figure head that can’t speak looks like? A President that signs documents to go to illegal unjustified wars and has a cabinet full of liars and criminals? He has been in Washington a long time and has become a true insider…. that is exactly what we don’t need. Give America a break with the security threats of terrorism and be a true leader.
Obama does have flaws but everyone does. At least we won’t be the laughing stock of the world if he does get elected.. hopefully. I just believe he is the lesser of the evils and that is what we are going for. It’s too much power for one person to handle, but if have to do it that way let’s give it to someone who hasn’t already blown their chance for credibility.
